The Miracle of Coconut Oil

Coconut oil has a long and highly respected reputation in many cultures throughout the world not only as a valuable food but as an effective medicine. Coconut oil is commonly used throughout the tropics as a traditional medicine.

Mostly unknown to Western Society this oil has been used in hospitals to feed patients who have digestive or malabsorption problems.  It is commonly given to infants and small children who cannot digest fat. Surprisingly it has been the number one ingredient in commercial infant formulas.

The benefits of Coconut Oil are far reaching…

It has been found to protect against heart disease, cancer and diabetes, as well as to support the immune system by warding off infections and disease. Also, a very unique property it promotes weight loss… its the world’s only “Low Calorie” fat!

Amazingly, the Lauric and Caprylic Acid found in fresh coconut have powerful antibacterial and antifungal properties.

The medium chain fatty acids (MCFA) in coconut oil have been shown to shift the body’s metabolism into high gear allowing more calories to burn, hence promoting weight loss. Eating MCFA’s equates to adding high octane fuel to your car. Better gas and mileage a more efficient running engine (your body).

Let’s not forget about the cosmetic properties of coconut oil…

Beautiful hair and soft skin! Also, due to its anit-germicial effect, coconut oil does not allow pests to inhabit the skin. It decreases wrinkles, dry hair, hands and skin. It can also be used as a lip balm for dry chapped lips.

For better health consume at least 3 tablespoons per day. The best type of coconut oil to purchase for multi-use is unrefined organic. To achieve health benefits from coconut milk (from fresh coconut) use 10oz., if using fresh coconut use 7oz.or 2 ¾ of shredded.
