              The Next Great SUPERFOODS

Eat these foods for extra energy, to ward off cancer or to even drop a dress size. The following foods will do double duty on your plate, both nutritious and delicious.

White Tea --While green tea is made from tea leaves, white tea is made from the buds, which makes it richer in antioxidants. Antioxidants have been known to aid in lowering blood pressure and cholesterol-they also may have a slight metabolism-boosting effect that can aid in weight management.

Black Rice--This slight purple hue rice is at the top of the rice hierarchy containing a significant amount of fiber and iron. The purple color is due to powerful antioxidants that are anti-inflammatory and free radical fighters. Those properties can enhance and improve the health of the cardiovascular system and brain function by keeping your arteries clear and promoting better blood flow.

Amaranth--This nutty but slightly sweet grain keeps your energy revved up as it contains all nine essential amino acids, the protein building blocks. It is also gluten-free and contains many important minerals including calcium, potassium and even iron. It also is loaded with potentially cancer-fighting and cholesterol reducing phytosterols.

Kefir--Protein rich and full of calcium, but this creamy drinks real claim to fame is that it contains probiotics. Probiotics promote healthy digestive and immune function.

Black Raspberries--Phytochemicals in these sweet berries cause cancer cells to commit suicide. Also this berry is low in sugar, high in fiber, Vitamin C and folate.

Chia Seeds--A dieter’s dream come true! These tiny black nearly flavorless seeds are packed with fiber (nearly 10 grams in 2 tablespoons) and expand in your stomach by absorbing water. They help you feel full without feeling bloated. They also have ample amounts of omega-3 fatty acids and are a good source of protein.

Swiss Chard--This vegetable is loaded with beta-carotene, Vitamin C, potassium, and magnesium. It contains phytochemicals that help to regulate hormones and inhibit tumor growth.
