Risk Factors for High Blood Pressure:
Smoking, stress, obesity,alcohol consumption, excessive coffee or tea consumption, drug abuse, high sodium intake, family history and water retention.
Seventy-two million Americans have high blood pressure. Fifteen million don’t even know it. Forty percent receive proper treatment. High blood pressure affects more than 50% of people over 65 years of age. Sixty percent have blood pressure in the ‘high normal’ range and can manage it with a proper diet and exercise program. American Heart Association, 2007.
Health Alert: Health care spending in the US reached $1.987 trillion in 2005, four (4) times the cost of national defense! US Dept Health and Human Services 2006.
Total national health expenditures increased 6.9% form 2004-2005, 4 times the inflation rate!
Chiropractic Myth Busters: Once you begin Chiropractic care, do you have to keep going forever? Yes, but only if you want to continue to receive the health benefits of Chiropractic care.
