How do Internal Organs assist the body to rid itself of harmful toxins through detoxification?

Detoxification Programs stimulate specific detoxification organs to cleanse the body of impurities and toxic waste.  The organs most likely involved include the liver, kidneys, small and large intestine, the skin and the lungs.  These organs all have specific detoxification functions to insure that harmful toxins are removed. Sometimes the function of these organs is compromised due to overwhelming toxic burdens that we have been exposed to in our diet, air or water.  At this point the body needs the help of a detoxification program to rid itself of harmful toxic substances. Using a detoxification program will reduce the toxic load and your body will concentrate its energy on purification and weight reduction. This will help you to achieve optimal health by cleansing the body from the inside out.*

How does a detox program stimulate the specific organs to purify the body?

Each organ has its own specific function...

Liver

      Filters toxins

Aids the body in the breakdown/use of fats, proteins and carbs

Helps to transform many toxins into harmless agents

Kidney

Filters out waste and excess fluid from the blood

Regulates and releases the right balance of sodium, potassium, and phosphorus for proper detox and function

Small Intestine

Digests food so that nutrients can be absorbed into the blood and transported to the liver.

Provides a barrier that blocks toxins from the rest of the body

Large Intestines

Absorbs water and electrolytes, forming waste that is excreted from the body

Produces antibodies for good health of the digestive tract

Contains bacterium that create fatty acids and some vitamins for additional nutritional support

Skin, Lungs and Lymphatic Systems

Act to excrete toxins by way of sweating, rashes, and breathing

How do you determine your toxic burden?

Your toxic burden is the amount of toxins that your body needs to process. By answering the questions below, you may gain some insight as to your current toxic load.

Do you or have you eaten processed foods?

Do you eat non-organic fruits and vegetables?

Do you eat meat and poultry that are not free range?

Do you consume genetically altered food?

Do you or have you ever used artificial sweeteners?

Do you eat foods that have preservatives, additives, dyes, or sweeteners added?

Do you eat fast foods and /or eat out regularly?

Do you grill or charbroil foods?

Do you drink coffee regularly?

Do you drink alcohol?

Do you drink tap water?

If the majority of your answers are "yes", then it is likely that your diet contributes significantly to your toxic load. Beyond diet, many external toxins, such as perfumes, cleaners, and pollution, add to your load.
