How to Pick the Best Pack
Choose the right size.
The backpack shouldn't hang lower than your childs hips. Don't buy one to grow into.
Don't Overload It.
The bag shoul carry no more than 15% of your child's body weight.
Watch the Straps.
The shoulder straps should be snug and worn on both shoulders (never sling the pack over one shoulder), and the bag should have a waist strap that your child always uses.
Check for Lumbar Support.
Padding in the back of the pack transfers the pack's weight from the shoulder to the lower back, which helps to reduce strain.
